Plastic Water Bottle Pollution
After yesterday's rains, plastic bottles and other urban trash runoff accumulate on the beach in Venice. According to Dave "Sustainable Dave" Chameides ,"this year more than 25 billion single use plastic water bottles will be sold in the United States alone and more than 80 percent of those will end up being disposed of rather than being recycled, that’s 20 billion bottles to the landfill". For the bottles and other plastics that make it to the Pacific , much of it may end up at the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

Plastic bottled water is one of the biggest hoaxes played on Americans in the last 25 years. Water that you drink from your faucet is tested and regulated more than bottled water. In most cases bottled water is just tap water chemically treated. Would it be too much to ask to use reusable containers?
That's where my bottle went. Thought I lost it at that party. Hold on to for me till I see you next.
WE agree. PET plastic bottles are a problem. They can be recycled...less than 30% is recycled. And sooner or later the plastic will end up in a landfill or burned. We felt something needed to be done so we here at ENSO Bottles are manufacturing a PET bottle that can be recycled and if it ends up in a landfill like most do, it will compost...it turns into water, CO2 and humus (dirt). It's not the end all solution but we feel we're taking a step in the right direction.
