LAFD Rescue Search in Tujunga Wash
Los Angeles Fire Department brought out a swift water rescue team and a helicopter to search for a homeless person that was possibly missing in the Tujunga Wash in Sunland this afternoon. A helicopter was called in to check a homeless tent on a sand bar that was out in the middle of the swollen wash, but nobody was found in distress. LAPD was asked to assist in moving a few other homeless people back from precarious areas around the wash.

Last night The Wrap hosted a screening and Q&A of "Anvil! The Story of Anvil" If you haven't yet seen this amazing documentary detailing the inspiring story of this Canadian heavy metal band, do yourself a favor and check it out. Steve "Lips" Kudlow and Robb Reiner started the band at age 14 and director Sacha Gervasi nails it while telling the story of struggle , dedication , and the cinderella story ending that is now happening. You can't help but rooting for these guys! And they totally rock too!

NBA Star Gilbert Arenas Suspended Indefinitely For Gun Fiasco
NBA star and former L.A. prep star Gilbert Arenas was suspended by the league indefinitely today. Allegedly, the talented and eccentric Arenas and Washington Wizards teammate Javaris Crittenton pulled guns on each other in the locker room last month over a gambling incident. A pre-game gun "skit" in the huddle yesterday led to today's statement from NBA head David Stern saying "Mr. Arenas" would get a "substantial suspension and perhaps worse," and the player's "ongoing conduct has led me to conclude that he is not currently fit to take the court in an NBA game."
I shot the above photo of Gilbert Arenas aka "Agent Zero" and "Hibachi" a couple years ago during the making of a video game. He was wearing a special suit that tracks natural movements for realistic rendering. I'm hoping he can come back strong from all this after the dust settles. Arenas made some bad choices recently, but he's definitely one of the more interesting sports figures today. He has publicly apologized and hopefully something good will come out of this episode in the end.

2010 Rose Parade
For the third straight year, I photographed the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. It was a nice way to celebrate the New Year of 2010. Highlights included snowboarding Bulldogs, Grand Marshall and Hudson River miracle landing pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, actor Jackie Chan rode on a float from China, and there was a blind marching band from Ohio.
