As the mystery of the official cause of death unfolds, LA Coroner officials, led by Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter were at the rented home of Michael Jackson, today in the Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles. They gathered more medical evidence today from the the home where Jackson was stricken last Thursday. Meanwhile, fans continue to show up at the location to pay respects to MJ.
Fans from around the world are descending to the Jackson family compound in Encino to pay tribute to Michael Jackson by leaving flowers, candles and other items in front of the house. On Saturday, the street was closed down because of all the fans and media live trucks.

R&B performer struck a plea deal with the LA District Attorney today in his criminal case for assaulting Rhianna in February after the two attended a pre-grammy party and got into an argument over another woman. His official plea was to the charge of "assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury". The other count , criminal threats, will be dismissed at his Aug. 5 sentencing.
Once again on Saturday hundreds of people took part in a demonstration at the Federal Building in Los Angeles in solidarity for the protesters in Iran who are facing a violent crackdown against their continued protest to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's reelection. According to the LA Times, this demonstration in Westwood was organized mostly through word of mouth and use of the social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.

Despite rules and pleas for cooperation from local whale experts , many whale watchers in Marina Del Rey have been getting to close to the wayward whale in the channel at the Marina as these photos from Sunday, June 14 illustrate. Federal laws state that it is against the law to approach within 100 yards in the water, however many boaters, kayakers, and paddleboarders have been observed waiting to catch a closer look at the whale. These rules are in place both to protect the whale and the humans from a disastrous encounter with the whale.Anyone interested in seeing the whale can get a great view from the jetty.
